Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards of a value less than 10 are counted at their printed number while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they only represent the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards shall then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The total for any hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 will have a score of 2 (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card could be given depending on the foll. standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a value of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The greater of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at 19 to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure you have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pay eight to 1 and on occasion nine to 1. (This is a crazy gamble as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from putting money on a tie. Nevertheless odds are appreciably better – nine to one versus 8 to one)

Played properly, baccarat provides relatively decent odds, away from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known misunderstandings. One of which is very similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is not a predictor of future events. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most accepted and possibly most successful strategy is the one-three-two-6 technique. This plan is employed to pump up payouts and cutting back risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a total of six on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
