Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards with less than a value of ten are said to be at their printed value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they purely portray the two hands to be played).

Two hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 … 5 gives a total of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A third card may be given depending on the foll. protocols:

- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, each players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay out 19 to twenty (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie generally pays out at eight to one and on occasion 9 to one. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. However odds are actually better – 9 to one versus eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an indicator of future happenings. Tracking of historic conclusions on a chart is undoubtedly a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and probably most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 concept. This schema is deployed to maximize payouts and limiting risk.

commence by betting one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
