Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than 10 are counted at their printed number and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they simply symbolize the 2 hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards will now be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the sum total of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven as well as 5 gives a tally of two (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A 3rd card might be dealt depending on the foll. protocols:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or nine, the two gamblers stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart shall be used in order to see if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays 8 to one and sometimes 9 to one. (This is an awful gamble as ties occur lower than one every ten hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Nonetheless odds are significantly better – nine to one vs. eight to one)
When done accurately, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, away from the tie bet obviously.
Baccarat Strategy
As with all games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Keeping track of previous results on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most accepted and possibly most successful strategy is the one-3-two-six scheme. This plan is deployed to accentuate profits and cutting back risk.
commence by wagering one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away four so you have 2 on the third bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th bet.
If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
