Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of ten are counted at their printed value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just symbolize the 2 hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is dumped. For example, a hand of seven … five results in a value of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card could be given depending on the following rules:

- If the gambler or banker has a score of eight or nine, the two gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores is the winner. Successful bets on the banker pay out 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have funds left before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie generally pay out eight to one and on occasion nine to one. (This is an awful wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Nonetheless odds are decidedly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)

When done effectively, baccarat presents fairly good odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Tracking of historic outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and possibly most successful technique is the 1-three-2-6 method. This tactic is deployed to maximize successes and cutting back risk.

commence by betting 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away 4 so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the 3rd gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you don’t win on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
