Baccarat Chemin de Fer Rules and Strategy

Baccarat Rules

Punto banco is played with eight decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards under ten are worth their printed number while Ten, Jack, Queen, King are zero, and Ace is 1. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the 2 hands that are dealt).

Two hands of two cards are then dealt to the ‘house’ and ‘gambler’. The score for each hand is the sum of the 2 cards, although the beginning number is discarded. For example, a hand of five and six has a value of one (5 plus six equals 11; ditch the first ‘1′).

A third card may be given out based on the rules below:

- If the player or house gets a score of 8 or 9, the two players stay.

- If the gambler has less than 5, he takes a card. Players otherwise stay.

- If the player holds, the bank hits on 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a table is employed to decide if the banker stays or hits.

Baccarat Chemin de Fer Odds

The better of the two hands wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. The Rake is kept track of and cleared out once you depart the game so make sure you have funds left over before you leave). Winning wagers on the gambler pays out at one to one. Winning bets for tie frequently pays out at 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a poor bet as a tie occurs lower than 1 in every 10 rounds. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. Although odds are substantially better for 9:1 vs. 8:1)

Wagered on properly punto banco gives pretty decent odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games baccarat chemin de fer has some established misconceptions. One of which is close to a absurdity in roulette. The past isn’t a fore-teller of events yet to happen. Tracking past results at a table is a waste of paper and a snub to the tree that surrendered its life for our paper desires.

The most common and definitely the most favorable course of action is the one-three-two-six tactic. This method is deployed to pump up profits and limit losses.

Start by placing 1 unit. If you win, add another to the 2 on the table for a sum total of three dollars on the second bet. If you succeed you will hold 6 on the table, take away four so you keep 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, deposit 2 to the four on the game table for a grand total of six on the 4th bet.

If you do not win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the initial bet followed by a hit on the second brings about a hit of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd provides you with a take of 2. And wins on the 1st 3 with a hit on the 4th means you are even. Winning all four wagers leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you will be able to squander the 2nd bet 5 instances for each favorable streak of 4 wagers and in the end, break even.
