Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under 10 are said to be at face value and on the other hand 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they simply act as the two hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the initial digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and 5 has a total of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be played depending on the following standards:

- If the gambler or banker has a total score of eight or 9, both players stand.

- If the player has 5 or lower, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used to see if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so ensure you have $$$$$ still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay eight to one but on occasion 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties will happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are considerably better – nine to one vs. 8 to one)

When played accurately, baccarat provides generally decent odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Monitoring of old results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and probably most successful technique is the one-3-two-six scheme. This process is used to magnify profits and lowering risk.

start by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the third gamble. If you win the third wager, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Arriving at a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
