Baccarat Standards

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than 10 are of their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they purely represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of 2 cards will now be played to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 … five will have a value of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given depending on the following standards:

- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or 9, each gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the player hits, a chart will be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to 1. Winning bets for tie commonly pays eight to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is an awful wager as ties occur less than 1 every ten hands. Definitely don’t try putting money on a tie. Regardless odds are greatly better – 9 to one versus eight to 1)

Played smartly, baccarat presents relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. One of which is quite similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Staying abreast of prior results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most established and probably most successful technique is the 1-three-two-6 scheme. This plan is deployed to pump up successes and lowering risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the 3rd wager, add two to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Therefore you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
