Baccarat is wagered on with 8 decks in a dealer’s shoe. Cards below 10 are counted at face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Bets are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or for a tie (these are not actual people; they just represent the 2 hands that are dealt).
Two cards are dealt to both the ‘house’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand is the sum total of the cards, although the beginning digit is dumped. e.g., a hand of five and six has a total of 1 (five plus six = eleven; ignore the initial ‘1′).
