Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than 10 are valued at their printed number while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they merely represent the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be dealt to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for each hand is the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 … five has a tally of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A 3rd card might be played depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the bettor or banker has a total of 8 or nine, both players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart might be used to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores wins. Victorious bets on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays out at 8 to one but occasionally 9 to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties will occur less than one every 10 hands. abstain from wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are noticeably better – 9 to one versus 8 to one)

Played correctly, baccarat provides generally good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. One of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is surely not a predictor of future actions. Monitoring of historic conclusions on a chart is simply a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and almost certainly most successful method is the one-three-2-six technique. This tactic is used to maximize profits and controlling risk.

commence by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of 6 on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
