Baccarat Rules
Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards that are valued less than ten are said to be worth their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they merely symbolize the 2 hands to be given out).
Two hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand shall be the sum total of the two cards, but the very first digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 as well as 5 will have a value of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be played depending on the following practices:
- If the bettor or banker has a value of 8 or nine, each players stand.
- If the bettor has five or lower, he hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the bettor hits, a chart will be used to determine if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores will be the winner. Victorious wagers on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have cash still before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to one. Winning bets for tie generally pays 8 to one and on occasion 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties happen lower than one every ten hands. Run away from betting on a tie. However odds are decidedly better – 9 to 1 vs. 8 to one)
When done correctly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, away from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. One of which is very similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future outcomes. Tracking of prior conclusions on a chart is simply a complete waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 concept. This tactic is deployed to amplify payout and lowering risk.
commence by betting 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the first wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Winning at all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
