Baccarat Procedures
Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued less than ten are worth their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual players; they simply act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
2 hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The total for each hand shall be the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is discarded. For e.g., a hand of 7 as well as 5 gives a score of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card might be given depending on the following protocols:
- If the gambler or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. Players stand otherwise.
- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the bettor hits, a chart might be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The larger of the 2 scores is the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have $$$$$ left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to one. Winner bets for tie typically pay out 8 to one but occasionally 9 to one. (This is a bad bet as ties occur lower than 1 every ten hands. Run away from wagering on a tie. Nevertheless odds are actually better – nine to one versus eight to one)
Played smartly, baccarat provides relatively good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Strategy
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. 1 of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way a predictor of future results. Staying abreast of historic outcomes on a chart is for sure a complete waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most popular and almost certainly most successful tactic is the 1-3-two-6 concept. This schema is employed to build up earnings and minimizing risk.
Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of six on the fourth gamble.
If you lose on the first bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the 1st two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you breakeven. Accomplishing a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. In other words that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
